For nearly thirty years, Mark and Julie Phillips have displayed a striking skill for discovery, from one-of-a-kind treasures to new trends. Starting in Southeast Asia and continuing on to Africa, Latin America, Europe and the Pacific Rim, they’ve searched the world for exciting products for their design-oriented customers. Today, The Phillips Collection continues to define global style for the contemporary market. With the same spirit of innovation, they discover design and designers, and match them with an incredible range of production resources developed over decades of travel.

The Phillips Collection, at their permanent showroom at the Las Vegas Market, has on display a wonderful assortment of Thai designers and artists dedicated to designing beautiful and unique works.

At this years Las Vegas Winter Market, the artistic talents of Thai designers was represented well by an incredible assortment of products for the home.

From the Origin collection of tables made from rescued roots fashioned into contemporary shapes, to Bonsai Trees rescued from a pile of kindling that have been bleached, preserved and mounted on an iron base, the Thai designers of The Phillips Collection continue to delight and surprise us with their ability to transform cast off pieces of wood and other materials and to breathe new life into them.

Inspiration comes in many forms, diverse materials harvested from end of life mango trees that are then joined together to make the delicate beauty of the Butterfly Tables; the Up Lamps made from teak wood scraps, engineered into lamps for indoor or outdoor use; and the Seatbelt collection fashioned from old car seat belts, innovation abounds.

I am profoundly taken in by the talents of the following designers and their products, which you can enjoy in the gallery of photos below.  Please savor them like fine wine.
